Description of Duties: The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for screening and orientation to services, timely and accurate clinical documentation, case management, participation in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, facilitating and documenting group educational activities. Transporting individuals served is a requirement.

Minimum Qualifications:   Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Services or related field.  Must be able to Obtain CAC II, or CADC II, within two years of hire date. Must have group facilitation and case management skills. Must have excellent verbal, interpersonal, and writing skills. Must have a valid, unrestricted Georgia Driver’s License and be keyboard proficient.

Preferred Qualifications:   Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Services or related field with a Substance Abuse Certification CACII or CADC II and Co-Occurring Disorders with at least one year of documented work experience.  Experience in group facilitation and case management. Experience working with individuals involved in the Criminal Justice System. Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder Screening Tools, and ASAM Levels.

Agency is an eligible work site for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program
