Behavioral Health Center -Griffin, Ga. Full-time M-F

  • The Substance Abuse Counselor CADC I, CADC II will facilitate substance abuse (SA) psych education groups, group training and submit services with appropriate time frame.
  • Utilize evidence-based SA materials. Participate in SA staffing, provide feedback and implement the Addictive Severity Index (ASI) assessments and have the ability to project what level of care to place.
  • Must be a Certified Addiction Counselor.
    CADC I, CADC II and Knowledge of electronic health record a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes Assessments to determine appropriateness for services
  • Develops and implements behavior management plans as required by regulatory agencies
  • Evaluates clients physical or mental condition based on review of clients information
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients treatment
  • Monitor, evaluates, and records client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
  • Provides training to direct staff in implementing behavior modification techniques
  • Trains to collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and test
  • Executes evidence based counseling groups designed to enlighten clients on prevention and perpetuation of learned techniques, strategies, and interventions to maintain stability
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Execute evidence based therapeutic session using CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, or Solution Focused training.
  • Attend Conferences, CEU’s, or field related trainings to continue to sharpen skills.
  • Maintain boundaries to ensure therapeutic rapport.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR certification as an addiction counselor from the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) or equivalent certification.
  • Physical Requirements:
    Must be able to lift and carry up to 25/50 lbs.
  • Physical Demands may include:
  • sitting, standing and/or walking, pushing/pulling, handling, reaching, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, squatting, climbing (ladders or stairs), overhead reaching, and driving.

Drug Screen
Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for seven years

TB testing will be required upon appointment. If you have previously tested positive for TB, you will be required to bring a copy of your chest x-ray on your first day of orientation.
