Ascend partners with Highland Rivers Behavioral Health, Georgia’s largest Community Service Board (CSB), to staff clinical and non-clinical jobs in behavioral health. Being part of our team and working in a CSB means you’re helping individuals and families otherwise unable to access treatment from private providers to address healthcare challenges associated with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases. You’ll be working with purpose to make a difference in the lives of people who need you most. Each of our jobs will work within a State Community Service Board facility.
The Addictive Disease Counselor will work as part of the The Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) to help individuals learn how to manage life issues and day-to- day living without the use of mood- or mind-altering substances or drugs. Program services promote recovery, self-sufficiency, development of support networks and other important life skills to enhance mental health and reduce the risk of needing inpatient treatment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducting IOP groups, individual counseling and psychoeducation, as delineated via program licensure by Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH)/Health Facility Regulation (HFR)
- Follow established guidelines in Addictive Disease Program Plan
- Individual counseling as clinically indicated
- Complete SPDs, and all other supporting assessments, including UDS, documentation for individuals affiliated with Bartow IOP
- Follow-up calls with referrals and participation in Treatment/consultation/clinical team meetings
- Complete monthly Treatment Plan reviews and discharge/transition person’s served, as clinically indicated
- IOP clinician conducting monthly audits for IOP staff
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Addictive Disease Operations, AD Regional Manager(s), as needed to meet expanding needs of individuals served
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum: Bachelors Degree in Helping Field
- Preferred: CACII, CADCII
- At least 1 year experience working in Mental Health or Substance Use disorder field
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug testing and have a clean 7 year motor vehicle report
