We are currently seeking a full-time Substance Abuse Counselor to provide service to adults who require structure and support to achieve and sustain recovery from substance related disorders. The Individual selected for this position must be willing to embrace our vision to ensure that we accomplish our mission to provide comprehensive solutions and evidenced-based interventions to underserved individuals dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues, HIV, domestic violence and the need for re-entry. In addition, we are seeking serious candidates who understand the need for timely documentation, as well as, the importance of empathy and life-long learning in order to give clients the skills necessary in Changing their Lives for the Better.
Benefits include:
Salary ($40,000 – $45,000) Commensurate with experience

STAND, Inc. is approved to offer education loan repayment through the Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP). The STAR LRP provides up to $250,000 to eligible health professionals including bachelor’s-level SUD counselors and behavioral health paraprofessionals, in exchange for a six-year, full-time service commitment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Maintains a caseload of 10-13 individuals, providing structured face-to-face Individual Counseling and Case-Management sessions to provide support and guidance in all areas of functional domains to prevent, overcome, or manage the individual’s level of functioning and enhancing his/her ability to maintain sobriety;
· Facilitates 2-4 groups weekly, which are targeted to individuals with substance abuse disorders and/or co-occurring disorders of mental illness and substance abuse;
· Conducts Addition Severity Index (AS) assessments and Treatment Planning upon admissions and as needed;
· Collaborates with all clinical and non-clinical staff to assist client’s with safely and effectively navigating through all programs from intake to discharge and aftercare follow-up;
· Participates in regular staff meetings, staff trainings and the development of positive team relationships;
· Prepares and submits documentation accurately and on time within 48 hours of service delivery;
· Serves as a member of the Clinical Team and attends meetings weekly;
· Ensures DBHDD, DCH & CARF guidelines are followed;
· Other duties as assigned;

Ability to maintain professional boundaries with staff and other stakeholders;
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), Georgia Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor II (GCADC II), Certified Addiction Counselor, Level II (CAC-II), and
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Must have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance;
