Description of Duties: Under general to limited supervision, assist with serving individuals with behavioral health issues (including those with a co-occurring substance abuse disorder or IID/IDD). May assist with coordination of the services and activities of additional support programs and community integration activities as well as treatment programs. Work with additional staff and consumers in creating a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). Collect data for purpose of documenting progress according to the Individualized Recovery Plan. Assist with transporting individuals to and from day program facility. Support consumers in articulating personal goals for recovery and wellness. Support non-consumer staff in identifying program environments that are conducive to recovery; lend their unique insight into what makes recovery possible for individuals with mental illnesses and addictive diseases. Support consumers in developing empowerment skill through self-advocacy and the use of coping techniques and self-help strategies. Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED AND Must be eligible for Certified Peer Specialist certification. Valid, unrestricted Georgia Driver’s License. Must be computer literate.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in human service, public health or behavior health sciences field. Certified Peer Professional Certification and Certified Peer Rehabilitation Professional – Eligible. WHAM Certified.
Agency is an eligible work site for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
